Welcome to the Goodrich Memorial Library serving the communities of Newport Town and Newport City for over 100 years.

Goodrich Memorial Library Forgives Fines During Christmas

All overdue books or other materials that are returned to the library from December 12th through January 7th will be exempt from fines. Now is the time to return any library materials you may have overlooked around the house, without a penalty. This is a gift to everyone from the library. Please save us the expense of replacing books, CDs, DVDs or magazines by bringing them back to the library.

Thank you and have a Happy Holiday Season!

The first library, established in the town of Newport, Vermont was originated by Dr. John M. Currier in the spring of 1862. In 2003, Goodrich Memorial Library received a substantial grant and the building has been restored to its original beauty and elegance.
